Hi all,
You should have received the following as an email already..
Adam's project makes for a good launching pad for another project.
I have been collaborating with the team at Semi Permanent to assist with promoting the conference.
Hopefully you are all aware of the Semi Permanent is a conference in Sydney.
It is a design related conference run by the folks at Design is Kinky.
Currenly in its fourth year, it has built a solid reputation as a go to
location for inspiration and seeing current styles/trends. And most
importantly, it is great for inspiration.
Some of the benefits of the conference:
- wayyy cheaper than attending AGideas
- conference pack usually has a bag and 500+ page book and other
things from sponsors
- big names, well know line up (Joshua Davis was this years draw card)
- several events/competitions are run in conjunction with the
conference
- designers merchandise is on sale at the conference
- signing and photos with speakers
In 2007, the conference is being moved forward to March 30/31
We need people to help promote and sell tickets for the event.
I am looking for one super passionate student from each of the three major design universities to assist with promoting the conference to students.
You would be required to undertake two roles:
1. Help promote the conference.
Promotional material would be provided to you, such as flyers and
posters, for you to distribute to students or post around uni. Our primary target market is design majors, however all are encouraged to come. Communicating with the student body via email would also be helpful.
2. Help to sell tickets
Students should be able to contact you to purchase tickets. Student
tickets are normally much lower priced than general admission.
The most crucial time will be at the very start of the next year, as I
doubt much communication can occur over the summer. As a result, people for this role need to be continuing their studies on campus next year (so that you are accessible to people)
"SO WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?" i hear you ask.
If you are able to sell 40 tickets or more, Andrew is willing to pay
for your ticket AND return flight to Semi Permanent. That's right, a free flight and ticket to the conference.
And believe me, selling 40 tickets is easy.
I'd like to hear from anyone who is interested in helping out with Semi Permanent.
Please send me an email (oralli at yahoo dot com) with the following details:
Full name
Email
University
Course
Year level
Preference will be given to those who have attended Semi Permanent previously (cos you can't beat first hand knowledge)
If you are interested, or have queries, let me know.
Please pass this on to any other students you believe would be suitable or interested.
Regards
Anthony
